Abstract

This research focuses on the analysis of San Benito of Palermo from a social perspective, as an emblem of religious and community culture of the subregions from the East and South coast of the Lake of Maracaibo, with the intention to endorse the importance of the daily and historical events of the inhabitants of these villages, where they can develop spaces that promotes the importance of the cultural value that holds in the regional and national identity. Nowadays, the actual knowledge about San Benito allows you to clarify doubts about his work, because it has been processed from different angles either negative and magic, heresy, pagan, or positive to be considered an image of faith religious; hence the significance of reviewing its social perspective.
