This critical reflection, grounded in educational, academic, and research practices, reveals the identity elements present in Zulia residents from the 1940s to 1980s and contrasts them with the findings in Zulia residents born since the 1990s. This is achieved through the following questions: What are the different perspectives or intersubjectivities of Zulia society toward the lake, present in their imaginaries, discourses, and daily practices? and What references to the lake do the new generations of Zulia residents have? The aim is to redefine Zulia's lacustrine identity from a sustainable ecological rationale proposed for Lake Maracaibo. Through Participatory Action Research, an in-depth interview and a diagnostic assessment were conducted, yielding results that lead to the conclusion that the new generations of Zulia residents have few identity elements related to Lake Maracaibo as their vital space.Downloads
